UK government statements say Iran has targeted dissidents and media organisations/journalists in the UK, and that these efforts form a strategy to stifle criticism through intimidation and fear.
It seems the Iranian regime isn't so keen on freedom of speech in the UK.
The UK government and Parliament sources reference MI5 reporting that the UK has responded to 20+ “Iran-backed plots” since early 2022, described as potentially lethal.
The current Iranian regime is a clear and present danger to citizens of the UK.
In May 2025, the Security Minister told Parliament that eight men were arrested in major national-security operations, including five arrests on suspicion of preparation of a terrorist act under the Terrorism Act 2006.

The UK has placed Iran on the enhanced tier of the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS). This requires registration of certain activities done at the direction of Iranian state bodies (or risk criminal penalties).

But they MUST be removed from the UK also.
