جمهوری اسلامی در اواخر سال ۲۰۲۴ به‌صورت محرمانه یک ماهواره جاسوسی چینی خریداری کرده که در جریان درگیری‌های اخیر، از آن برای شناسایی و هدف‌گیری پایگاه‌های نظامی آمریکا در خاورمیانه استفاده شده است. این ماهواره با نام «تی‌ای‌ای-۰۱بی» توسط یک شرکت چینی ساخته و از چین به فضا پرتاب شده است.
بر اساس گزارش روزنامه فایننشال تایمز، این ماهواره پس از پرتاب در اختیار نیروی هوافضای سپاه پاسداران قرار گرفته و اطلاعات مطرح‌شده در این گزارش به اسناد نظامی فاش‌شده ایران استناد دارد.
در این گزارش آمده که استفاده از این ماهواره بخشی از تلاش‌های تهران برای تقویت توانایی‌های اطلاعاتی و نظامی خود در منطقه بوده و به ایران امکان داده است اهداف نظامی آمریکا را با دقت بیشتری رصد و انتخاب کند.
این خبر در حالی منتشر شده که پیش‌تر نیز شبکه خبری سی‌ان‌ان به نقل از منابع اطلاعاتی آمریکا از احتمال ارسال سامانه‌های پیشرفته پدافند هوایی چین به ایران خبر داده بود؛ موضوعی که به گفته تحلیلگران نشان‌دهنده گسترش همکاری‌های نظامی میان تهران و پکن است.
